SSET – Support for Students Exposed to Trauma
(10 sessions, late elementary to early high school)
SSET is a school-based group intervention for students who have been exposed to traumatic events and are suffering from symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). SSET teaches cognitive and behavioral skills such as social problem solving, psychoeducation which provides information and support to better understand and cope with PTSD, and relaxation. The wide variety of skill-building techniques taught helps students to reduce current problems with anxiety or nervousness, withdrawal or isolation, depressed mood, acting out in school, or impulsive or risky behavior.
